Cher patient,

TRETINOIN

Dear patient,
Please read the following instructions carefully. They contain important information
about the use of this medicine. If you have any further questions, please ask your
doctor or pharmacist.
Information about TRETINOIN
TRETINOIN is available as 0.1%, 0.05%, and 0.025% viscous topical solutions. TRETINOIN
is a form of vitamin A used for the treatment of mild to moderately severe acne.
TRETINOIN 0.05% is also indicated for the treatment of keratinisation disorders and warts.
The way to use TRETINOIN
Use as directed by your physician. Do not discontinue the treatment without consulting your
doctor. The usual recommended dose is:
- Attack treatment for 2 to 3 months The solution is applied once daily, in the evening, to the skin where acne lesions appear, using enough to cover the entire affected area lightly. Applications are adapted according to the skin's reactions. During the first and second week, the application may cause a transient feeling of warmth or slight stinging. During the second and third week of therapy, an exacerbation of acne lesions may occur. This is due, in part, to the action of the medication on deep lesions and should not be considered a reason to discontinue therapy. Therapeutic results should be noticed after 2 to 3 weeks but more than 6 weeks of therapy may be required before definite beneficial effects are seen. - Maintenance treatment for several months The solution is applied 2 to 3 times per week. -Treatment should be progressively stopped. TRETINOIN 0.1% is more adapted for use on the back. For the treatment of keratinisation disorders or warts (TRETINOIN 0.05%):
Frequency of applications varies according to the affection. The average daily dose is 1 to 2
applications.
