Question 2 Explain how fitness testing can be used to improve or enhance a training program. When retesting, the reliability of a test is an important factor that must be considered. Explain what reliability is and give two examples of strategies that can be used to ensure that tests are more reliable. It is important to ensure that fitness component tests are specific to the activity for which the fitness component is required. Outline an example using two different sports or activities that would both require a specific fitness component; use this example to demonstrate how a different fitness test would be more specific to each sport due to the different situations in which the specific fitness component is utilized. Discuss why the amount of energy contributed from the Anaerobic System is fairly consistent across each of these events even though the demands of the events are very different. Explain how the speed the athletes run at for each event are so different even though the contribution of the Anaerobic System is the same for all three events. Question 6 Nina is a 100m sprinter. At his last visit to the doctor, his doctor found that he had mild hypertension and recommend that Robert increase his levels of physical activity. a. Use the Social Ecological Model to demonstrate an example from each level of the Model that may affect Robert’s level of Physical Activity. b. If a person arousal level is too low then it shall impact negatively on performance through factors such as the person being tired, bored and uninvolved in the activity they are performing. On the other hand if a person is too aroused their performance will suffer from factors such as being tense, anxious and over-excitable. Above shows the typical graph for arousal levels. However, for some events the optimal performance zone can vary. Answer the following question based off this information. Label on the graph below where the area of optimal performance would occur for a 100 metre sprinter. Justify why this would be the ideal level of arousal for a 100 metre sprinter. Outline one strategy that the 100metre sprinter could use to reach an ideal level of arousal if he was in the average ‘optimal performance area’ shown in the first graph as opposed to the optimal performance area most ideal to his event. Label on the graph below where the area of optimal performance would occur for an archer.
