When the Coca-Cola business started on 8 May 1886, there was only one manager, only one salesman and onlyone ’factory worker’ in the company and this was Dr John Pemberton. Now Coca-Cola is a 50 billion-dollarbusiness with millions of employees all over the world.
There were four main ingredients in the original Coca-Cola formula: lime, cinnamon, coca leaves, and the seeds ofa Brazilian shrub. Dr John Pemberton, an Atlanta pharmacist, mixed all these ingredients in a brass kettle in hisbackyard. He then sold the non-carbonated beverage in Atlanta's largest pharmacy, Jacob's Pharmacy.
