Registration for FCES’13 Conference Participation
To register as conference participant, you need an account in the ConfTool system of this event. The account allows to access registration details and payment information at any time after registration. You can also use your account to print out the registration confirmation and your invoice.
Create a New ConfTool Account
If you have not obtained a ConfTool account for this conference before, your first step will be to create a new account. As author, member of the program committee or reviewer for this event, you will most likely already hold a ConfTool account. Please use your existing account for registration as participant.
To create a new account select the link "Register New" on the login page and follow the instructions given there. Please enter your full name and address, and provide a valid e-mail address, since these details are required to contact you, for name badges, invoices, and receipts.
You do not have to create a new user account for each paper you submit. The same user account can be used for multiple submissions and for participant registration. If you are already a registered user, e.g. as PC member or reviewer, please use that account for your submissions, too. Log-in to The ConfTool System
If you already hold an account, log-in with your user name and password under "Registered Users". If you have forgotten user name or password, please follow the links next to the according input fields and consider hints for user registration and log-in.
The Participant Registration Process + Paying your invoice
To start the registration process, please click on "Register as Participant" on the overview page of your ConfTool account. The registration process consists of several steps (Read the instructions before starting registration):
1. First, please state your participant status (examples: as regular participant, student or invited
speaker). If you have any questions, please contact the event organizers by e-mail.
2. Now select (sub)events and other items you want to book for this conference. The available options
are Conference, Conference Dinner and Join FSES. The prices depend on your registration status and the time of registration ("early bird" reduction).
The maximum number of participants for the conference dinner is 120. If this is booked out,
no new registrations for the dinner are accepted.
If you wish, you can join as a member for the Finnish Society for Environmental Sciences
by selecting the correct choice in registration phase and sending a signed copy of the membership application found from the conference website to the Secretary via e-mail ([email protected]) or via mail (address found in the application form). By joining as a member, the reduced participation fees apply to you (select “X / Member of FSES” when registering).
3. The payment method for the conference is bank transfer. Invoicing is possible on special request
4. Finally, confirm your entries and the registration terms for participants.
Please note that your registration for participation is binding and the full fee has to be paid within the given period.
After completing the registration, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with the required payment details. The "Confirmation of Registration" can now be accessed from your ConfTool account and be printed via your browser's print function. The ConfTool system generates an ID number for each participant. Please use this ID number together with your name (First Last) in the message field when paying the bank transfer. After your payment has been received, you will get access to the invoice from your account. If you need a payment receipt, please contact the conference organizers.
Submit a New Contribution
Select "Your Submissions" and select the type of contribution you want to submit. Please enter all required details for your contribution into the submission form (marked by asterisk) and proceed.
If one or more uploads are required for your submission, you have the option to upload these files now. You may also choose to upload the manuscript later. You will also have the possibility to update your submission and upload newer versions until the submission deadline.
A paper number will be assigned to your submission, please use this number for further reference.
Update Contribution Details
Until the submission deadline, you can update your contribution details, upload new versions of the manuscript, or withdraw the contribution. The last uploaded version at the time of submission deadline will be considered for review, unless the contribution is withdrawn.
Viewing the Review Results
After the review process has finished you will receive a message from the chairs by e-mail. The review results will be made viewable to the authors via the ConfTool system. Please go to "Your Submissions" and select "Review Results" for your paper after logging in.
Upload Camera-Ready Manuscript / Final Version
If your contribution was accepted you usually get the option to submit a final version of your contribution. Please consider the review results from the experts for that version. The final version has to be "camera ready", i.e. it must use the conference template and follow the submission guidelines otherwise it will not be published in the proceedings.
You will also use the ConfTool system to upload the final version of your contribution. Further details will be provided by the conference chairs.
Register for Conference Participation
For each accepted paper at least one presenting author has to register for conference participation, otherwise the contribution will not be considered in the conference proceedings.
For most events, participant registration is also handled via the ConfTool system. If you already have an account you can do so by clicking on the "Register as Participant" link. This option gets available, as soon as the conference program is set. You will get an according message from the conference organizers.
